Safety With Airsoft

Getting to go outside with some buddies and fire airsoft guns at one another is a fun and exhilarating activity.

The excitement of the quick-paced action and the skill of using strategy when playing is great, but remember that you’re still firing guns at one another, even if they are classified as toys.

A lot of people neglect proper safety precautions when using Airsoft, but don’t let that be you. Here’s the gist of what you’ll need to know about Airsoft safety.

Thing is, airsoft guns typically only fire plastic pellets and then only at speeds between 150 feet and 300 feet per second, depending on the type of firing mechanism in your gun (compressed gas and spring-loaded triggers fire faster and harder than electric airsoft guns).

That speed means that for the most part, you won’t be able to break the skin or penetrate most items thicker than aluminum or Styrofoam. They certainly can, however, leave painful bruises and welts.

To avoid the most basic injuries, those being bruises and such, you’ll need to remember to wear something to add padding. 

A t-shirt won’t cut it, but a thicker sweatshirt or hoodie can easily prevent a lot of the sting from typical play. The more layers you add, the more padding you have and the less likely the chance of bruising becomes. 

Wearing straight Kevlar or specially designed body armor will eliminate the issue entirely.

Airsoft guns can be dangerous if fallen into the wrong hands. To avoid this situation if you have a very small airsoft then it is better to hide it in a Large Shoulder Holster. And if you have a small Airsoft then it can be easily kept safe in a Valuable Car Gun Safe.
